Another award show, another red carpet! Some of the biggest names in film gathered at the Royal Festival Hall in London for the 2023 BAFTA Film Awards to celebrate excellence in filmmaking. And on the red carpet, stars show up in their finest gowns, tuxedos, and custom creations.
Per usual, these red carpets often give way to specific themes. And the theme for this year’s British festivities was twinkle, twinkle little star mixed with “The Color Purple.” Cynthia Erivo shimmered in a metallic, rust, tiered custom Louis Vuitton gown, leading the metallic trend, while the likes of Angela Bassett (in custom Pamella Roland), Viola Davis (in Stella McCartney), and Jodie Turner-Smith (in Gucci) all banded together in shades of purple. Another metallic standout of the night was “The Woman King” star Sheila Atim, who stole the night in a sleek Prada gown with coordinating silver gloves.
