Small Tweaks, Big Results: Getting the Most From Your Hair Journey

Since the beginning of my relaxed hair journey, I learned small tips and tricks that helped maximize healthy hair. I strongly believe that it’s the little things that really matter. The small tweaks that I’ve implemented have helped to make my regimen and journey smoother and my hair is much happier because of it.

Air-drying my hair with a satin scarf around my hairline helps to smooth out my new growth while I’m stretching my relaxer. No direct heat necessary. This method is a staple!

Adding penetrating oils (olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil) to my deep conditioners really increase hydration levels in my hair. It kicks my deep conditioner up a notch decreasing tangles and increasing slip.

I like to moisturize and apply my deep conditioners in sections. My hair loves this because I get more coverage and I can relax knowing not an inch of my hair is neglected.

I use my blow dryer on cool air to skip the long air drying process. I’ve noticed smoother, stronger, fuller hair. It’s gentle, heat-free and my hair loves it.

Low manipulation means less breakage – which is key for me and my hair. Keeping the use of combs to a minimum and using my fingers more has allowed me to keep more hair on my head.
