R&B Groups that Rocked the 90s and the Essence Fest Stage

For #ThrowbackThursday, we take a look at the 90s R&B groups that have graced our stage over the years.

Dru Hill, who most recently performed at the 2012 Essence Festival, gave 90s babies some unforgettable hits like "Beauty", "5 Steps" and "These Are the Times".

These ladies, who performed in 2001 and 2005, need no introduction, because you obviously didn't forget any of their 90s hits, like "Bills, Bills, Bills" and "Say My Name".

Boyz II Men arguably recorded the greatest love ballad of the decade with "I'll Make Love to You". The Philly quartet performed on our stage in 2011.

The popular Bad Boy R&B group will reunite at the festival this Summer.

While LSG, the 90s group formed by Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill, didn't perform at the Festival together, each member performed solo over the course of 10 years. In this picture taken in 2007, Eddie Levert (center) of the O'Jays stands with Sweat and Gill in memory of his son Gerald, who passed away suddenly in 2006.
