Sign up for a clinical trial with BreastCancerTrials.org, developed by the University of California, San Francisco. It’s a nonprofit clinical trial matching service started by two former breast cancer patients, one of which died from her 12-year battle with the disease. Clinical trials are a really important way for cancer patients, survivors and those who are at risk, especially Black women, to share information.

Up for some exercise? Find a walk or run in your area that supports breast cancer research. There’s the Avon Walks for Breast Cancer, the Komen Walks for Breast Cancer or the Long Island 2-Day Breast Cancer Walk (LI2DAY), which raises money for the South Nassau Communities Hospital’s Cancer Center, which provides breast cancer screening, early detection/diagnosis, and follow-up treatment programs specifically for underserved and minority patients. More than 300 walkers participated in the two-day, 35-mile walk held on June 6 -7 and resulted in $300,000.
