NY rapper Ja Rule was compared to Tupac back when he first made his entrance into hip hop back in 1999 with his debut album, “Venni, Vetti, Vecci.” The comparison was controversial then, but would be more than welcomed now if Fuqua needed to portray who Tupac was as an MC.

On the heels of his role in “Percy and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief,” he is also one of the freshest faces in Hollywood. With a slight resemblance to the MC, Jackson would shine capturing the light hearted comedic side of Shakur.

Yeah, we know it’s been done before, but Mackie did such an excellent job depicting Tupac in “Notorious” that we feel if Fuqua were to select an established actor, he should return the role to Mackie.
Also, Mackie’s central role in “The Hurt Locker” hasn’t gone unnoticed. His powerful but somber performances would be the match for the eerie seriousness Tupac used to show to the world.
