My Selfie Journey: Jodi-Kay Edwards

Fashion blogger Jodi-Kay kept her hair natural until the 8th grade, and that’s when things began to change. Once she relaxed her hair it became severely damaged from over-processing it and use of constant heat. Jodi-Kay didn't appreciate her natural hair until last summer when she decided to go back to wearing her natural hair. “I wanted to get to know the girl under the weave,” she says. Here she shares her story.

My current hair regime includes... co-washing once a week, a shampoo cleanse once a month, a wash and go throughout the week or protective styling like bantu knots or twist outs. I also dry my hair with a microfiber towel to decrease frizz. At night I sleep with a silk cap and refresh my curls with water with Shea Moisture's Curl Enhancing Cream.

My favorite hair products include... Shea Moisture's Coconut and Hibiscus curl enhancing smoothie, Shine and Moisture most and the Co-wash Conditioner.

The secret to having healthy hair is...to care [for it!] Take the time to care and nurture your hair.

My biggest hair challenge is...dryness and shrinkage.

I love my hair because...it is mine, it's unique and every curl has a story tell.

My hair crush is...Ella Eyre
