Notorious B.I.G Tribute (1997)

After losing rapper Biggie Smalls earlier that year, Diddy brought his widow Faith Evans, 112, and Sting together to perform "I'll Be Missing You" in tribute. Definitely one of the VMAs most touching moments to date.

Kanye West "Runaway" (2010)

One year after interrupting Taylor Swift's acceptance speech to declare Beyonce deserved the award, Kanye returned to the VMA stage with a single beat making machine to debut the first single from his upcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy a.k.a the album that was so good it made us forgive him.

In her first solo performance at the VMAs, Beyoncé wowed the audience with killer choreography and a surprise appearance from future hubby Jay Z. Plus that upside down entrance was epic.
