When Marlese tried to leave a dead happy hour scene, Rodney convinced her to stay. They spent the rest of the night engrossed in conversation and made plans and three years later he was on bended knee on Valentine’s Day. Let’s celebrate their love!
“I knew that Rodney was the one when I realized that I couldn’t imagine my life without him,” says the bride-to-be. “He was a beautiful surprise.”
“Rodney has a tough guy appearance, but he is gentle, patient, overly considerate, passionate, incredibly kind and loves me for me,” says Marlese. “He always shows and tells me that he loves me. And he is always there no matter what the circumstances are.”
“He leaves sticky notes on the refrigerator or on the bathroom mirror telling me that he loves me,” says Marlese. “Those are the best because it always happens when I least expect it and most need it.”
“We dated for three years and he proposed on Valentine’s Day, which was one week shy of our three year anniversary,” Marlese shares. “I knew that he was looking for a ring because he asked me what type of rings I liked. But he quickly told me not to get too excited because it would not happen any time soon or on a major holiday. He proposed three months later on a major holiday.”
“My friends like him and think he is very funny,” says Marlese. “He is always in a good mood. And, my parents love him. My mom loves his humble and relaxed spirit.”
“Rodney is the best man for me because he completely understands me,” Marlese shares. “His love never waivers and he is always there for me. I never have to guess what’s going on in that mind of his because he always tells me how he feels.
“His love is unconditional even when I sometimes don’t deserve it,” says Marlese. “It is truly a God-send and I am so blessed that God chose me to be his wife.”
“Unfortunately Rodney’s parents died before he reached the age of 18,” says Marlese. “Therefore, the only family he has left are his children and his sister. I get along great with his family. He gets along with everyone in my family and fits right in.”
“I am looking forward to sharing every day with Rodney and creating an unbreakable bond that will keep and sustain our love forever,” says the bride-to-be.
“I love everything about Marlese, what I love the most is that she always has my best interest in her heart,” says Rodney. “I also love our chemistry and the fact that we are best friends. Marlese and I can do anything together and that’s every man’s dream.”
“I fell in love with Marlese because I felt complete with her and she is the most thoughtful person that I know,” says Rodney.
“Marlese meets and exceeds my spiritual, physical, intellectual and emotional needs and requirements that I have for a woman,” says Rodney. “After being single for a while and dating a lot of women it was very clear to me that Marlese was special.”
“I look forward to building a legacy of greatness and high expectations with Marlese,” says Rodney. “We both had childhood struggles and I look forward to breaking a generational chain and leaving a foundation of success for our children.”
Marlese and Rodney plan to honeymoon in Mexico after their big moment at the altar.
“On our wedding day, I will be extremely excited about looking in Marlese’s eyes,” says Rodney. “It’s a great feeling when you know that you are supposed to be with someone.” Join us as we congratulate the happy couple! Want to see your love story featured in Just Engaged? Email us now.
