Hair Bloggers Get a New Look

Dove Curl Expert and celebrity hairstylist, Cynthia Alvarez meets with seven hair bloggers to address natural hair challenges and give them a new look.

Step 1: Wash using the Dove Quench Absolute Ultra Nourishing Shampoo and deep condition with Dove Quench Absolute Intense Restorative Mask for 15 minutes.

Step 2: Cut combed out damp hair. Taper the sides and shape the top into faux hawk style. Note: We recommend a stylist to do the cut.

Step 3: Set in perm rods using Dove Quench Absolute Supreme Crème Serum and a holding gel.

Step 4: Undo perm rods using Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing treatment (with African Macadamia oil) on finger tips and finger style until ideal look is achieved.

Step 2: Wash hair and apply conditioner.

Step 3: Diffuse hair and apply the Dove Style+Care Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse for well-defined curls without the crunch.

Step 4: Trim if needed to add shape and texture.

Step 1: Co-wash using Dove Quench Absolute Ultra Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner. By combining the two, shampoo’s drying effect is minimized and counterbalanced with the added moisture from the conditioner.

Step 2: Deep condition for 15 min under a hooded dryer.

Step 3: After rinsing the conditioner, set the hair with a curling crème in flat twist to prep for drying.

Step 4: After drying (either under a hooded dryer or overnight), undo twist.

Step 1: Use the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing treatment (with African Macadamia oil) on finger tips to unravel twists and add in moisture.

Step 2: Pin up the right and left sides of hair; leaving the middle section unpinned.

Step 3: Using a weaving basket technique start at the crown of the head and overlap left to right with six rows in total. Pin the ends once finished, overlapping and connecting it to the front.

Step 4: You have the option of leaving the front out as a fringe or pinning it up and back into a pompadour look.

Step 1: Apply a hydrating serum to twists.

Step 2: Diffuse hair on low-heat setting to dry the serum.

Step 3: Use an oil on fingertips to untwist her hair and add additional moisture and shine.

Step 4: Finger style to add volume until ideal look is achieved.
