WHO: Tropixal by Alshante Foggo, 28

WHAT: "Being born and raised on one of the most beautiful islands of the world and following in the footsteps of my mother Charmaine Friday who obtained a degree in Illustration and Design has provided endless inspiration for me," says native Bermudian designer Alshante Foggo. "From a very young age I was exposed to fine arts particularly hand painted designs and over the years I have watched it evolve not only through my painting but being able to transfer this same creativity into fashion and capitalize on my designs as a fashion designer. I'm an island girl, and I know that my designs reflect that. For this collection in particular I drew a lot of inspiration from the rich color palette on the island such as our pink and orange sunsets, and waters that range from blue to a deeper green, paired with bold black and white detailing. The special design details for this collection would be getting my very own hand painted designs printed on to fabric. It was an experience of a lifetime, seeing my pieces on the runway for the first time and how they moved, I knew at that moment turning my designs into fabric was the right decision for this collection."

WHO: Window. for Rochelle Nicole by designer Rochelle Minors, 24

WHAT: “I was inspired by windows and architecture found in Bermuda along with the Mediterranean,” says designer Rochelle Minors. “My ideal woman to dress is free-spirited, bold and confident, with a mix of eclecticism and sophistication like Solange Knowles and Julia Sarr-Jamois. I use sheer organza and plastic to portray transparency and the idea of "looking in,” organza patch pockets, window blinds and frames, laser cutting and digital print.

WHO: Juliana Gibbons (namesake collection)

WHAT: "This collection was inspired by an inner drive to not look so outwardly for a named inspiration. In fact, in an effort to develop a design sensibility, method and aesthetic that can be perpetuated no matter the inspiration, I wanted to look inwards to the process and find how that could inspire me," explains designer Juliana Gibbons. "The collection is capsule based, and designed to have pieces function multiple ways and in countless combinations to provide for a woman who wants to show her creativity and self through how she dresses. I wouldn't say there is a specific age, career or drive that my customer has, but she's a creative individual who appreciates the transformational capabilities of fashion and has something she wants to convey to the world through her clothing. She is above all strong in her conviction and shows her confidence through her outward projection."
