Fall TV Preview: 35 Reasons We'll Be Tuning In

So many amazing TV shows and so little time to watch them all. We've got you covered on all the new and returning shows, and talent, you should be tuning in to this fall. From "Empire" and "The Wiz Live" to new shows starring Nia Long, Niecy Nash, Meagan Good, here are 35 reasons to get excited about this season's TV lineup.

‘Empire’

Premieres: September 23rd at 9pm, ET on FOX

Cookie, Lucious, Jamal, Hakeem, and Andre are back to decide the fate of the Lyon empire in this highly-anticipated season.

Premieres: September 24th, 9pm ET on ABC.

Ms. Pope is back and fixing drastic dilemmas, hiding complex secrets, and “handling” possibly some of the biggest scandals on television.

‘How to Get Away with Murder’

Premieres: September 24th, 10pm ET on ABC.

This suspense-driven show about astute law students and their entanglement in a treacherous murder is back with more ammo to have us tipping off the edges of our seats. Hopefully we’ll find out who Rebecca’s killer is on Season 2

‘Being Mary Jane’

While The Game was still airing on BET, Akil pulled a Shonda Rhimes and created Being Mary Jane for the network in 2013. Starring Gabrielle Union, the series focused on the life of a Black woman who’s successful in her career but still trying to figure out love, family and life. Season four of the show continues on July 18 on BET.

‘Black-ish’

Premieres: September 23rd at 9:30pm, ET on ABC.

Andre (Anthony Anderson), Rainbow (Tracee Ellis Ross) and their colorful brood are back for more laughs and social commentary.

Premieres: September 24th 10pm ET on NBC

Wesley Snipes stars as the charming, no nonsense former intelligence officer who works as expert security in this action packed, Las Vegas thriller.

Rihanna and Missy Elliott on ‘The Voice’

Premieres: September 21st at 8pm ET on NBC

The Voice is returning for a ninth season with some new additions. Missy Elliott will be serving as an advisor to judge Pharrell Williams’ team. Rihanna will also be joining the team as the key mentor for all four teams.

Uzo Aduba, Shanice Williams and Queen Latifah in ‘The Wiz Live’

Premieres: December 3rd, at 8pm, ET on NBC

What a lineup for this remake. Newcomer Shanice Williams as Dorothy, Queen Latifah as The Wiz, Mary J. Blige as Evillene, David Alan Grier as The Cowardly Lion, Uzo Aduba as Glinda, Amber Riley as Addaperle and The Wiz veteran (who played the original Dorothy in the show’s debut), Stephanie Mills as Auntie Em.

Meagan Good in ‘Minority Report’

Premieres: September 28th at 9pm, ET on FOX

Good play the lead in this new drama pilot, which is a sequel to the 2002 Steven Spileberg movie. Good will play Lara Vega, a detective who helps a clairvoyant man find his purpose and use his gift for good.

Aunjanue Ellis in ‘Quantico’

Premieres: September 27th at 10pm, ET on ABC

A group of brilliant recruits arrive at the FBI Quantico Base for training, only, one of the recruits are suspected of conceptualizing the largest attack in New York City since 9/11.

Hill Harper in ‘Limitless’

Premieres: September 22nd at 10pm ET on CBS

Similar to the 2011 movie, a man gains the ability to use 100 percent of his mental capacity and uses his newfound ability to solve weekly cases for the FBI.

Emayatzy Corinealdi in ‘Hand of God’

Premieres: September 4th on Amazon

An unlawful, wedded judge suffers from a mental breakdown and goes on a hunt for the rapist who destroyed his family. While on the quest, the judge uses visions and messages he believes are sent from God by way of his ventilator-bound son.

‘Rosewood’

Premieres: September 23rd at 8pm ET on FOX

Morris Chestnut plays Dr. Rosewood, a brilliant and gifted private pathologist who has the ability to read the secrets of individuals both living and dead. Dr. Rosewood teams up with the city’s detective to uncover clues that’ll help the Miami Police Department solve the city’s most difficult cases.

S. Epatha Merkerson and Yaya DaCosta in ‘Chicago Meds’

Premieres: November 10th at 10pm, ET on NBC.

A spin off from NBC’s Chicago Fire, Chicago Med chronicles the emotional ride of the city’s explosive hospital and the team of doctors that keep it afloat. Together, the Chicago medical team tackle pressing, topical cases and create intense relationships in the emergency room with occasional visits from the Chicago police and fire departments that will act as the show’s supplemental set of heroes.

Niecy Nash and Keke Palmer in ‘Scream Queens’

Premieres: September 22nd at 8pm, ET on FOX

Keke Palmer plays college student who pledges to a sorority at the elite on Wallace University. However, things take a turn when the sorority pledge goes wrong and is followed by serial murders that rattle the campus. Niecy Nash stars as one of the hilarious campus security guards who tries to keep things in order until suddenly, her co-worker becomes a victim of one of the murders.

Larenz Tate in ‘Game of Silence’

Premieres: TBA on NBC

A successful Atlanta attorney’s long lost friends suddenly reappear after 25 years. When a secret they shared somehow resurfaces, the group of friends band together and embark on a journey of righting the wrongs from their past and testing the limits of their brotherly loyalty.

Tamar Braxton and Chaka Khan on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Premieres: September 14, 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Tamar Braxton and Chaka Khan are joining Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars, alongside Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Alek Skarlatos, the U.S. serviceman who helped stop a gunman on a Paris-bound train.

In desperate need of a babysitter, and some much needed alone time, a couple (played by Nia Long and James Lesure) call in their last resort, Uncle Buck (played by Mike Epps), a hilariously irresponsible man who puts the children in unfavorable situations and finds it difficult to abide by the parents’ rules.
