EXCLUSIVE: Ciara's Chic Maternity Moments

"Ciara at that time I think was evolving into a different aspect in her life and at that point I didn't know what it was, and now I understand––it was knowing that she's a mom." – Jason Rembert, Ciara's Wardrobe Stylist.

"While working on the (Emilio Pucci) dress, I didn't know she was pregnant yet, and I didn't find out until a couple of weeks after the dress was confirmed," reveals Ciara's wardrobe stylist, Jason Rembert. "I wanted something that was still sexy and modern but at the same time have some type of regality to it," he explains. "We fitted this dress four times. We really worked on that dress to make sure it was perfect, even up until the night before to make sure it was exactly what she wanted."

"Talking to Cee, she said, 'I want something that is simple but to have drama.' So I partnered up with this costume designer Ashton Michael in LA and we came up with a beaded long coat with leather sleeves and I just found some black pieces," explains Rembert. "And Cee wanted to do Doc Martins, which I thought it was so cool."

"Ciara is actually the first woman in Lanvin history to wear a mens look on the red carpet," Rembert reveals about the pin-striped suit. "They never lend men's for women –– ever."

"We spoke about the look and she wanted to wear a suit for the carpet and even if she were to wear a menswear-inspired women's suit it would have still have been a little too form fitting and would have made her look more feminine than the look we were trying to go for. We were trying to go for that masculine look on a female."

"This was something really quick. I think it was a simple outfit, but it just shows that Ciara can wear a little black dress and it doesn't have to tight but she can still be chic with it," Rembert tells us. "Even with her jewelry it's very minimal, she wears more personality pieces that are very sentimental to her."

"I think we knew it had to be a sheath dress because she was debuting it on TV, and when she walked out we didn't want something that was so revealing," said Rembert about her pregnancy announcement style on The View. "It had to be something that still gave her a figure but that wasn't too tight. We had a fitting two nights before and this was the first look she tried on and we fell in love with it."

"I think Ciara's maternity style has been Ciara's style for many years," explains her stylist. "This full look is Calvin and we literally made that look in ten minutes. Ciara was leaving for the airport so it was a collaborative effort."

"With a lot of our looks we try and stay monochromatic, that's our thing right now monochromatic colors that work for her."

"I think it's amazing that she has been able to keep her identity throughout her maternity style. She doesn't want to be over sexy, that's not something she wants to do," says Rembert."

"We did the black leather jacket, a black shirt from Calvin Klein women's collection, and this trouser was a big look for Calvin's Spring collection. I think this is probably the best trouser I've seen in a long time, especially for taller women like Ciara. I think it's beautiful because it just elongates the body and it's really chic, it's simple and not doing too much."
