[MUSIC]. Wherever there is a celebration going on. That's celebrating black women, that's cause for joy alone. Here we are you know, 44 years into our career and, and to our purpose if you will. And you know, I like this is characteristic of what Essence does, it affirms the truth in us. [MUSIC]. You know, our May cover had three gorgeous singers and artists. Ledisi, Erykah Badu and Solange. And they also shared their stories, obviously, about their journeys to beautiful. So because they were so insightful and inspiring, we thought we would continue it with this wonderful panel tonight and just like, learn and affirm black beauty. Well, my mom always told me I was beautiful and to always You know, embrace who I am at all times. And even when I felt like I wasn't beautiful. She'd always have some great words for me. And, say, look your name, everything about you is different. And that's what makes you great. And I love that about my mom. She always has little gems to tell me all the time. I have two daughters I've always taught them that beauty is, of course, how you act and who you are more than how you look. It's also about your smile and your smell. I love talking about empowering women. I mean that's the best position I have right now. [LAUGH] And I love it. So I'm glad to be a part of it. [MUSIC]
