A little color is coming to FX. The television network announced that Jill Scott and Lauren London have been added to the pilot of Snowfall, a new drama that chronicles the crack cocaine uptick in 1980s Los Angeles. Scott will play the mother of a character, and London will play his aunt. We're setting our DVRs! [The Hollywood Reporter]

Ferguson police teargassed protestors and arrested nine last night after police shot and killed an 18-year-old. According to authorities, the victim, Mansure Ball-Bey, pointed a gun at officers. Demonstrators gathered, but the police called their gathering an unlawful assembly. [NPR]

We must say that Madame Tussauds should have seen this coming from a mile away. Mere days after the wax museum unveiled a Nicki Minaj's figure—situated on all fours imitating her "Anaconda" music video—a spokesperson for the museum announced that they would be redesigning the display. The pose has prompted visitors to pose provocatively with the figure (one man snapped a pic posing behind her and pulling on her hair). Nicki hasn't responded to the backlash. [The Guardian]

POTUS is heading to New Orleans to commemorate the upcoming 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. While in Louisiana, President Obama will deliver a speech on the progress that they city has made while also speaking one-on-one to residents to hear about their own recoveries. [NOLA]

ICYMI, Queen Latifah is slaying on the new cover of Variety. In the interview, she discusses everything from her rap career to owning the big and small screens. She also opened up about her sexuality, saying that her recent portrayal as bisexual Bessie Smith didn't have anything to do with her personal life. "I know what I'm doing in my private life," she said. "And I know what I'm not, and I know me. And people who are not privy to that don't know; they don't know what they think they know." Preach! Columbus Short is in trouble again. The former Scandal star was arrested earlier this week while at his album release party in Los Angeles. According to reports, a conflict with his bail bondsman is what led to a group of bounty hunters taking him into custody. He is currently being held in $250,000 bond. [The Wrap]
