Though Bobbi Kristina Brown is not in the best situation, it seems that an extended family member is looking to profit off of her unfortunate position. After reports have surfaced that Bobbi Kristina's family is preparing for a funeral, alledgedly, an extended family member took a photograph of the 22-year-old in her hospice bed. It is said that this family member has taken to circulating and selling the photograph to various magazines.  We hope all is well with the Brown and Houston family. [International Business Times]

President Obama took the podium last night to deliver his 14th speech post-tragedy. During his speech, he sent his condolences to the families of the victims killed in Wednesday's Charleston shooting and expressed frustration at the country's lackluster gun laws. "Any death of this sort is a tragedy," he said. "Any shooting involving multiple victims is a tragedy. There is something particularly heartbreaking about the death happening in a place in which we seek solace, and we seek peace, in a place of worship." [USA TODAY]

What's it really like to be friends with Oprah? Selma director Ava DuVernay, Oprah's colleague and newfound friend, recently dished to Entertainment Tonight on what it was like being buds with the media mogul. "She talks about all the things that she's learned from talking to all of those thousands of people all these years, you know?" she said. Lester Holt is now a history maker! NBC announced yesterday that Holt, a veteran reporter, would be the new host of NBC Nightly News, making him the first permanent Black anchor in the show's history. Holt fills in for Brian Williams, who was suspended earlier this year after it was revealed that he had fabricated some of his journalistic experiences. [NBC News]

Laverne Cox is getting an ice cream flavor named after her. Three Twins Ice Cream, a California-based company, just announced that it would be naming its newest flavor after Laverne.
