The star of the State Dining Room? This white chocolate gingerbread house with miniature chocolate furniture, a marzipan replica of Mrs. Obama’s vegetable garden, and a not-quite-to-scale Bo.

Taking its name even more literally than usual, the Green Room is decked in environmentally friendly style, with recycled and re-used materials. The trees here are made of recycled newspapers and magazines, folded, glittered, and decorated with ribbons.

The China Room, anchored by a place-set dining table, symbolizes the gathering of family and friends for the holiday. It also features one of 19 Christmas trees scattered throughout the house.

The Booksellers area takes on a whimsical children’s theme, complete with an oversize version of First Dog Bo, made out of pipe cleaners and wire frames.
