Tavon Ferguson, 25, wed Kenneth Ferguson, 28, on July 19, 2008, in Atlanta. Tavon received a spa manicure and pedicure from a local nail salon for $23. She applied the design detail herself and purchased Kenneth’s titanium wedding band from eBay.com for $40.
Kenneth, right, gets the royal treatment from his best man, Josiah Rugley. The groomsmen rented their tuxedos from Savvi Formalwear and Kenneth redeemed a coupon to receive a discount on each tuxedo rental. Kenneth was able to get his tux for free and all of the gentlemen received free shoe rental.
It pays to have talented friends. Tavon’s makeup was done by her buddy Dominique Doyle, who lent her services to the bride as a gift. The southern belle pinned her hair into a loose updo herself after getting a $20 roller set.
“No one ever really signs the guest book and couples usually don’t do anything with it. My husband and I are big music fans. I bought these music notes from Party City for $8 and had guests sign them so we can frame them as artwork,” explains Tavon.
The blushing bride and her groom cut the cake during their reception. A small portion of the bottom tier was real cake for pictures. The guests received sheet cake that was purchased for less than $200.
