David Brown met Teni Osinubi on his second day on campus at Duke University. It took him a few months to win his lady over, and when he did, he vowed to never let her go.

Being that the wedding was at the Atlanta Botanical Garden it seemed fitting that Teni’s hair stylist, Karen Brown of Benaije’s, would put orchids in the bride’s hair.

Teni says makeup artist Steve Moore of the Moore agency did an excellent job with her makeup because no one could tell she was tearing up as she walked down the aisle.

Teni found her Rosa Clara wedding gown at La Raine’s Bridal Boutique in Atlanta. She knew she wanted a Rosa Clara gown and when the attendant handed her this dress to try on she knew it was the one.

David’s explains that his wedding day was very emotional because his mother, who was suffering from Cancer, was able to see her baby boy walk down the aisle. He tried to hold it together, but when his sister came to his room, he started to cry.

“I’m in love with him because he’s just for me,” Teni says.

Teni’s parents are from Nigeria. They threw her and David a traditional Nigerian wedding party the night before their Western ceremony.

Teni chose long biased-cut, grecian-style, royal blue gowns for her bridesmaids to walk down the aisle in.

David’s parents are all smiles as they watch their boy marry the woman of his dreams.

“The whole time my dad was walking me down the aisle he was talking to me,” Teni remembers. "He said, ‘This is a happy occasion. I’m proud of you. This is what a father wants to see.’ He was just praying for me.’

Teni and David’s pastor created vows that were based on the couple’s personalities.

“When it was time for our kiss, I was like, ‘Come on. Let’s go.’ My grand aunt made this face like, ‘Oh my God. You bad girl.’”

“When I was in eighth grade my friend Keisha and I got this idea to make a list of our perfect men. I wanted him to be tall, to have blue or green eyes, to be ambitious, to love God, to get along with my sisters and to be smart,” Keisha remembers. “At the end of my Freshman year I got together with my old friends and David was there. Keisha pulled me to the side and said, do you remember that letter that we wrote in eighth grade, your guy is right there.”

David says he knew he wanted to marry Teni from the moment he laid eyes on her. He was only 17, but he had found his true love.

Teni and David danced to Jamie Foxx’s “Heaven” for their first dance. “I just cried the whole time I was like, ‘Oh my God. This is real.’”
