‘Real Housewives of Altanta’ stars Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas made a stunning couple on their wedding day. They tied the knot in a glamorous Atlanta wedding at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History on July 24, 2010.
Cynthia’s makeup artist, Malika James, created an unconventional dark smokey eye for the bride while her hairstylist, Caprice, swept her hair into a more traditional updo.
Cynthia’s peep toe shoes had a little platform to give the towering model even more height on her big day.
When photos of Cynthia’s one-of-a-kind metallic silver Rubin Singer gown began to circulate around the web, everyone gagged. Isn’t it to die for!?
The large bow and big pleats add an element of drama to Cynthia’s unconventional wedding gown.
Cynthia chose to walk down the aisle holding a white orchid bouquet created by Tony Conway from A Legendary Event.
“I was totally bi-polar and schizophrenic that day,” Cynthia admits. “I’d be calm and then I’d spaz out again. It was a really long day for me and emotionally I was kind of all over the place.”
“I didn’t think about how much bigger than life it was going to end up being,” the bride admits. “It’s already a big day, [plus] I had a camera crew filming my every moment. I woke up with cameras in my house.”
Cynthia is so thankful to everyone that helped her get to say “I do” to Peter. “It took a village to make this wedding happen.”
“NeNe was very supportive that day,” Cynthia told us. “She was one of the ones calling me asking if there’s any last minute thing I need and saying, ‘I want to give you guys what you don’t have right now.’ She has given me a lot of advice in my weaker moments.”
All of the other “Housewives” attended Cynthia’s wedding celebration. Sheree Whitfield sat next to her good friend Lawrence for the ceremony.
“When I started walking down the aisle, that was the only time during that day that I felt peaceful and 100 percent,” Cynthia says of walking towards her love, Peter.
“There were definitely times when I was so unsure, but it just felt so liberating to have my moment to walk toward Peter and see his face,” the new wife says. “I knew that everything was right.”
Although she had turned down the married life before, Cynthia decided that Peter was the right man to share the rest of her life with.
The newlyweds were glowing as they headed down the aisle holding hands.
Cynthia says she’s looking forward to her, Peter and her daughter Noelle “just being a family and working together as a family to move forward.” She says her 11-year-old daughter Noelle loves Peter. “As soon as she walks in the door she’s like, ’Where’s Peter.’”

Cynthia and Peter started marriage off on the sweeter side, feeding each other cake. Yum!
“He has a very old fashioned Jamaican upbringing. He wants to work and pay the bills and I’m more laid back and go-with-the-flow,” Cynthia says. “In other ways I’m very conventional and he’s very unconventional. He’s a risk taker, I’m more of a nest-egg kind of girl.”
“I just like that he’s a real man,” she continues. “I think he just has a certain strength. He’s not always politically correct, but he’s not afraid to be Peter. I respect it. I definitely could never be with someone who was just wishy-washy.”

Kandi and other guests broke it down on the dance floor. Kandi told ESSENCE.com, “I appreciate [Cynthia and Peter’s] honesty,” with regards to letting ‘RHoA’ film their pre-wedding financial problems.
“There’s something about actually having him be my husband instead of my boyfriend that definitely feels more official,” Cynthia reveals. “So I’m looking forward to us building a life together.”
