“We’ve always had a great connection with each other,” Nekesa said. “It’s like we’ve known each other for a long time.”

The bride got a premium price for her fabulous wedding gown when she bought it from a sample sale at Kleinfeld’s.
“It’s a dress that usually costs $4000, but I got it for $900,” she dishes. “I still had to get it altered and dry cleaned which brought the cost up about $500 more.”

The bride pulled off her effortless, Hollywood-glam look with a wavy hairdo accented by a flower pinned to her left side.

Nekesa was flexible about the type of wedding dress she would wear. She just had one requirement.
“I knew I didn’t want a strapless dress,” she said.

Nekesa found her bridesmaids’ gowns on Nordstrom.com. She sent her girlfriends a link to the dress and let them choose the color.

Nekesa is a music editor and she and Malik bonded over their favorite vibes. So it’s no wonder the happy couple shared their first smooch after a Q-Tip concert.

“It’s really amazing to see your intended on one knee,” Nekesa said, thinking back to the night that Malik officially proposed to her.

When Nekesa began walking down the aisle with her father, “I was choking up a little by just looking at her,” Malik admits. “But I was also thrilled. I just thought about how much fun she and I always have and that this is my best friend in the world.”

Nekesa said Malik’s smile was the first thing she noticed about him, but on their wedding day the blushing bride was beaming with love for her new husband.

“It just talks about being together forever and that’s what we wanted,” Malik said.

“Everyone was on the dance floor the whole time. We were on the dance floor so much that we barely got a chance to eat,” Nekesa laughs.
