On September 2, 2010, college sweethearts Danielle Peacox and Brandon Cross jumped the broom in an elegant affair with some very personal touches. Share their love.

Danielle’s hair was styled swept-up by Phyllis Morgan and her naturally glamorous makeup look was created by Kay Castro.

When the costs of veils seemed too high for the bride, Danielle found her vintage-inspired veil on Etsy.com for a fraction of the price.

Danielle knew she didn’t want the typical princess-style wedding gown. This Maggie Sotterro dress, which she found at Brides and Beaux in Colleyville, “had just enough to keep me interested without being overdone,” the bride says.

Danielle found these funky silver shoes at Nordstrom.

Brandon’s collar was decorated with a beautiful yellow orchid.

We see where Danielle gets her bright smile from. Here she spends some quality time with her mother Artemese Peacox before heading to the chapel.

Danielle was lucky to find her bridesmaids’ long blue gowns at the same boutique where she purchased her wedding gown, Brides and Beaux. The rich jewel-tone looks lovely on all three ladies.

Danielle and Brandon enlisted her god daughters Lyric Carrington and Mariah Waters as flower girls to lead the bridal party down the aisle.

The bridesmaids walked down the aisle with bouquets of white and lime green. We love the vibrant color contrast between the flowers and the blue dresses.

The wedding venue, Piazza in the Village, created this floor decal for Brandon and Danielle’s big day.

Danielle found these decals for the chapel doors at a crafts store. “They were plain old petina gold letters,” she explained. “I painted them and put the ribbon on them.”

The Piazza in the Village was the perfect all-inclusive venue, with a beautiful chapel for the bride and groom to say “I do” in and a banquet hall to accommodate all of their guests.

Danielle made her own invitations, wedding programs, and thank you cards. A naturally crafty woman she says she enjoyed all of her D-I-Y projects for the wedding. “I was looking for more stuff to make,” she laughs.

“It was kind of surreal,” Danielle says of walking down the aisle toward her (now) husband. “You always hear people say that all you see is your groom. I didn’t believe that until then,” she admits. “My eyes were just locked on him.”

“He’s not one to be all emotional,” Danielle acknowledges of her dad Charles Peacox. “When he gave me away it was sweet, just the way he hugged me like that.”

“We were together for almost seven years when we got married,” Danielle says. “By the time we got married, I felt like it’s just my last name that’s changing.”

For the ceremonial broom jumping, Danielle wasn’t pleased with the brooms that she found online so she decided to decorate her own. The peacock feathers are kind of an inside joke between the bride and her mom about their last name, Peacox.

Danielle and Brandon can’t contain their happiness after being pronounced husband and wife.

“He tells me really corny jokes that I crack up at,” Danielle says of her new hubby. “He’s just really cute and a really sweet guy. I just love everything about him.”

Danielle’s florist, Lilium Florals, who was recommended to her by the venue’s wedding coordinator Michelle Krajenta, created dramatic centerpieces at the wedding reception.

Danielle used mypublisher.com to create her engagement book for wedding guests to sign and leave their well wishes in.

The bride, her mother, and her bridesmaids wrapped music sheet paper around the votive candle holders to create a personalized theme that recognized Brandon’s love of music.

Brandon’s favorite musical genre is jazz. The couple named their tables after the groom’s favorite jazz records and Danielle and her bridesmaids created the postcards that featured the album art.

The simplicity of the couple’s three-tiered wedding cake fits so well with the elegance of the wedding. The cake featured just the right amount of floral design to catch the eye.

Danielle and Brandon danced their first dance to John Legend’s “Be With You.”

Halfway through the slow-jam, the newlyweds switched up the tempo to boogie down to Boyz II Men’s “Motown Philly” — a nod to Brandon’s original hometown, Philadelphia.

“I’m looking forward to the honeymoon,” Danielle says. “I’m looking forward to buying our first house together and getting the furniture — all the girly stuff.”
