Braid Outs Aren’t Only For Naturals: A Step-By-Step Tutorial For Relaxed Hair
-
Step 1
1/6Start with freshly co-washed or deep conditioned hair.
-
Step 2
2/6Apply a leave-in conditioner from root to tip, comb through with a wide toothcomb for even distribution.
-
Step 3
3/6Seal in the leave in conditioner with an oil and anti-frizz serum of your choice. Section off your hair in 6-7 parts. You do not have to use a comb for each section; you can part your hair with your fingers. Now is the time to decide if you want a side or middle part. For a middle part you will need 7 sections.
-
Step 4
4/6Proceed to braid the hair (securely) one section at a time. Curl the ends of each braid with a perm rod. Roll at least ½-1 inch up the braid.
-
Steps 5 and 6
5/6Once complete, cover the freshly braided hair with a satin bonnet or scarf for the braids to air-dry overnight.
The next morning, remove all perm-rods from each braid and proceed to unravel each braid. Be sure to dap a small amount of anti-frizz serum on your fingers while unraveling each braid to help prevent frizz.
-
Step 7
6/6Fluff and separate each section until it’s at your desired fullness. Be sure to remove all parts/sections in the hair. Style and go!
