The talk show host is currently doing a 12-city "Sit Down Tour… Too Real for Stand Up." Like the title suggests, don't expect talk show Wendy; this will be a more raw, more real and more "grown folks talkin'" type of Wendy. If you're in either Memphis, Dallas or Houston, be sure to grab your tickets. The tour gives fans a firsthand taste at that no-holds-barred Wendy Williams attitude that we know and love.

Mother and daughter duo Ayoka and Haj Chenzira team up for Funnel Cake Flowers and the Urban Chameleons, a live performance filled with comedy, dance and a hilariously relateable script debuting at the New York International Fringe Festival. Directed by Ayoka, the Division Chair for the Arts and Humanities at Spelman College, and starring her daughter Haj, the stage show focuses on the typical story of a person of color who camflouges into white corporate America during the day, but returns to her P.O.C roots at night.  This is sure to be one performance to remember.

Writes ESSENCE Books editor Patrik Henry Bass:

A true story: Journalist Stephanie Smith fed her boyfriend a turkey and Swiss sandwich on white bread. His response? "Honey, you are 300 sandwiches away from an engagement ring." When the enterprising writer shared this exchange online, the Internet went after her "antiquated" boyfriend with the ferocity of the Beyhive. In her funny and touching new book, 300 Sandwiches (Zinc Ink, $26), we take a peek behind the counter into the couple's hearts and home.
