Birchbox can be credited for starting the subscription beauty trend. The company was founded by Hayley Barna and Katia Beauchamp while they were in business school in 2010. Every month Birchbox members receive a curated box of luxe beauty samples from skin care to cosmetics for a fee of just $10 per month.

YouTube makeup guru Michelle Phan created the myglam subscription service to share her love of cosmetics with her loyal viewers.
