Hot on the heels of our recent announcement about the all-new ESSENCE Festival Beauty Bungalow experience, we’re excited to officially reveal that none other than entertainment icon, Missy Elliott, will be joining Queen Latifah’s “Ladies First” performance on the ESSENCE Fest Superdome mainstage.

A five-time Grammy Award-winning rapper, singer, songwriter, producer and style icon whose creativity truly knows no limits, Missy has remained one of the most innovative and respected artists in the entertainment industry for nearly 30 years. Her endless catalog of hits continues to provide a solid blueprint for those looking to follow in her footsteps today, while her authenticity as Black woman who broke barriers in a male-dominated Hip Hop industry and personifies the very essence of Black Girl Magic, continues to inspire us all.

Taking place on Saturday, July 7, Queen Latifah’s “Ladies First” will celebrate her 30-year career in entertainment, where Remy Ma, MC Lyte, Nikki D and more will also join Missy as special guests. The performance will follow a mainstage show from all four ladies of Xscape, while Saturday’s headliner, Mary J. Blige, will close out the mainstage for the evening.

Missy Elliott, Remy Ma, MC Lyte and Nikki D join a previously announced weekend concert lineup that includes Janet Jackson, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Snoop Dogg, Teddy Riley, SWV, Miguel, Fantasia, Idris Elba, Ella Mai, Blackstreet,  Daniel Caesar, H.E.R., Jussie Smollett, Big Freedia and many more.

Be sure to grab your tickets to see Missy light up the stage, along with more of the biggest names in music, at the 2018 ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans this July.

See you in NOLA!
