NOLA Bounce music queen Big Freedia hit the stage for her first-ever ESSENCE Festival performance that had the city turned up to the max.

It was a classic ESSENCE Festival moment that saw the audience erupt with cheers when none other than Bobby Brown himself made a surprise appearance during a preview of “The Bobby Brown Story” followed by a discussion with the series’ stars, Woody McClain and Gabrielle Dennis.

The actress was all smiles in the portrait studio. 

Thomas, author of The Hate U Give, looks like a ray of sunshine.

Dennis will play Whitney Houston in The Bobby Brown Story, a performance we’re excited to see.
