It’s never too early to start planning the ultimate 2018 girls trip to ESSENCE Fest and now you can do just that!

The 2018 Essence Festival® presented by Coca-Cola® will take place July 5 – July 8 in New Orleans, Louisiana, where we will unite once again to bring you an unforgettable celebration of Black excellence in music, film, fashion, activism, television, business and more! A limited amount of advanced tickets for the 2018 Festival will go on sale beginning August 10 at 10:00 am ET.

The 2017 Festival saw a record-high 470,000 attendees, with inspiring keynote conversations and addresses from a host of influential voices including Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Ava DuVernay, Halle Berry and Angela Rye, as well as the casts of Girls Trip, Queen Sugar, Power, Empire and Insecure, to name just a few. 

The evening concert series saw the biggest names in music grace the Superdome stages each night and included performances from Diana Ross, John Legend, Mary J. Blige, Chance The Rapper, Solange, the first full performance from XSCAPE in over 15 years and much, much more.  

Keeping with the momentum, the highly anticipated 2018 event is expected to feature a diverse, all-star roster of musicians and speakers for its’ nightly concert series and daytime empowerment programming.

And while we're still reeling from that grapefruit scene and the finest that is [UNKNOWN], some folks left the theater with another question. Simply Angie tweeted, Just one Girls Trip ain't gonna cut it. A sequel is a must for the culture. And Luxurious ponded, So for the sequel to #GirlsTrip I see Dina getting married, and they all reunite for this JOYOUS occasion. The Wood vibes but with women. Well, Jada Pinkett Smith says it's a possibility. She told the U.K. TV show Loraine quote, I think with the success of the move, a sequel will happen. They're saying that we've taken R rated comedies out of their slump. So it's a nice moment for us for sure.
