After she shut down the stage at the 2014 ESSENCE Festival, Janelle Monae took some time off to groom a new group of artists to create a new sound in music. Monae has since formed her own record label called WondaLand Records and also signed the talented young men and women.
The first artist from her creative collective goes by the name of Jidenna and his debut single, Classic Man, is slowly but surely becoming a summer anthem. Last night (May 18), Janelle and Jidenna performed her new hit, Yoga for Jimmy Fallon. They were backed by The Roots and rocked the crowd in usual Monae-fashion.
