The ESSENCE Festival announced its first-ever Family Reunion Day event to be held on July 4 in New Orleans’ Woldenberg Park. Families are invited to attend the free event, which will include games, cooking competitions, fireworks and performances by Biz Markie, the Brass-A-Holics, Cupid, Doug E. Fresh, Gina Brown, Tweet and Stooges Brass Band. Journalist Cheryl Wills and DJ Mike Swift will host.
