When an invite came to my email to check out a new piercing shop in New York, I immediately jumped to it. I’ve been in New York for a little over a year and while I’ve managed to get a tattoo in my stay, I have been longing for a piercing. Currently, I have the average one earing hole on each ear but, I also have a heart-shaped piercing at the top of my ear that took over a year to heel (yes, ouch). While I don’t have many piercings, the adrenaline from getting another one was too good to pass up.
Opening up today, STUDS is located in the popular New York City Nolita area. Stores like Stadium Goods, V files, and Opening Ceremony are within blocks and many chic restaurants and independent stores crowd the street. When walking into the store I was expecting high price points due to the location of the store as well as everything, unfortunately, being relatively high in NYC.
To my surprise, I was greeted with affordable pricing and even cuter jewelry options. At Studs, the pricing service cost a flat fee of $35 for one hole (or $50 for two), applicable to any part of the ear. With an option to choose from fashion jewelry or a regular assortment, the jewelry price point ranges from $30-$180. The brand has also done collaborations with fun fashionable companies like Susan Alexandra and Man Repeller.
Ridding the stereotype of a creepy visit at a tattoo parlor, the STUDS approach to your piercing is providing a clean and comfortable experience for every customer. I was welcomed into the store by a diverse, friendly, and knowledgable staff and left with two new piercings and a longing to go back.
