Kiari Cephus, better known as Offset, made a splash during NYFW for his debut catwalk appearance in the Jeremy Scott, Spring/Summer 2019 fashion show.
Without any grand gesture or announcement about him taking the stage, Offset proved that he was ‘bad and boujee’ by smoothly gracing the runway (just as any professional male model would). He counted his steps and paced his stride while modeling a neon-pink Pokémon sweater paired with electric blue leather pants and lime green boots.
It should come as no surprise that Offset’s varied interests would include high-fashion, he’s known for wearing flashy and over-the-top designer clothes and always dripping in diamond jewelry. This moment signified that Offset’s star quality is steadily rising; after dominating the music business with his Migos family he’s now caught the fashion wave. Backstage, Offset was congratulated by his mother and wife, Cardi B, along with Tiffany Haddish and his cousin Quavo.
We asked ESSENCE cover girl Haddish her thoughts on the collection, “I enjoyed the show… I had a great time and loved the collection. [Offset] did a great job,” she said. Only time will tell what’s next for the rapper, but don’t be surprised if his next hit is a fashion design collaboration.
