Lisa Wu Hartwell is arguably the most stylish member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Since we know many of you watch to dissect what the ladies are wearing—(admit it!)—we caught up with the tastemaker herself to get her style tips. Read on for the scoop on her fave designers, biggest bargains and ultimate splurges.
“The shell bustier is Nya Nya couture and the black jeans are by Seven. Nya Nya is unique and sexy,” says the Georgia peach.
Lisa shows off her dramatic side in a gorgeous floor-length gown with a unique bubble detail. But, not all of her pieces are this avant garde, Lisa explains.
“Of course, I own a black dress like everyone else because it’s timeless piece.”
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” premiere party earlier this summer was definitely a see-and-be-seen affair. Lisa turned heads in a one-shoulder Sergio Hudson form-fitting dress.
“I love Sergio Hudson, he’s made a lot of my dresses. I try to give local designers who are talented but not renown an opportunity to be put on the map,” Lisa explains.

“My dress here is by Tracy Reese. I love Tracy Reese because her collection is flirty and fun,” Lisa says of her sleek black cocktail dress. Reese is a veteran African-American designer who has also dressed First Lady Michelle Obama.
Lisa and her hubby Ed smile for the camera at the 17th Annual Trumpet Awards in Atlanta. Although the fashionista is always dressed to the nines, she remains practical about her spending.
“There doesn’t have to be a big name label attached to my clothes. In these days and times we all have to be smart shoppers,” advises Lisa.

“This silver dress is by Sergio Hudson. I love wearing his designs because he is familiar with my body and his pieces fit me like a glove,” explains the doting wife and mother.

“Hudson’s style is elegant yet sexy.
My stylist Tracy Sipp found this designer and I have been using him for all of my major appearances,” shares the petite powerhouse.
Lisa and loving husband Ed kick it at the ESSENCE Music Festival on July 4, 2009. The spunky stylista breaks down her casual look:
“I enjoy being a lil’ funky. I don’t like to be as corporate unless I have a meeting.”
Niecy Nash’s Birthday Soiree in ATL was a star-studded affair and Lisa (pictured here with Ms. Nash) brought her usual sophisticated flair with a sexy belted mini dress in sleek black.
Lisa is a stunner is this fuchsia Closet Freak minidress with an unexpected pop of sunny color at her feet.
“I definitely have shoe fetishes,” admits Lisa.
Lisa rocks another bangin’ look by her go-to designer Sergio Hudson. Her petite athletic frame is stunning in this curve hugging ensemble.
In July 2008, Lisa, along with (L to R) NeNe, Sheree and Kim share some camera time during a press event. Lisa explains a bit of her financial savvy:
“Now that I’m on a hit show there are a lot of perks so I haven’t made a big splurge in a while. I love jewelry and will usually spend on that, but lately I haven’t been shopping like crazy. My biggest splurge are investments such as properties where I’m going to see a return.”
Lisa strikes a pose on the purple carpet at yet another VIP soiree in Atlanta this past May. In addition to showing love to both established and up and coming designers, the fly girl is making her own moves in the style arena. When asked about her favorite designers she mentions Dolce & Gabanna, Eva Lambert and Sergio Hudson in addition to her own line.
“Of course my collection, Closet Freak, is one of my favorite lines. It’s a culmination of all your tastes,” shares Lisa.
Lisa simply dazzles in this feminine purple jumper from her line, Closet Freak. If you don’t think Lisa can mix-up her high and low tastes; think again.
“I love the Gap and Target. As long as your accessories are right you’ll look like a million bucks!”
