Colors: Big, bold, juicy colors from crazy corals to bright neons. Whi a lot of these were bold and solid, designers also incorporated a lot of these hues into fun graphic prints and deconstructed floral prints.
Shapes: Lots and lots of loose, flowey dresses that glide over your torso and graze at your knees. In fact, BCBG’s runway was full of these relaxed shapes. Over at Nicholas K, the loose clothes were layered with jackets and scarves to give the models an even more boho and casual chic vibe. Tadashi Shoji kept his loose flowing pieces glam by adding halter necks and an occasional cinched waist.
Fabrics: Silks and chiffons reigned supreme. Many of the designers on day one opted for these loose, light fabrics to give their flowey pieces an even more ethereal flair.
Where You’ll Wear Them: All we could think of was vacation, vacation and more vacation as we saw bold bursts of color, sheer panels and flowing fabrics coming down the runway. But styled properly, the clothes from Day 1 can easily take you from the office to a cocktail party.
