The Moncler Gamme Rouge Spring/ Summer 2018 collection debuted on the runway yesterday in Paris, but the main attraction were the Hiplet ballerinas who opened and closed the show. The collection, which was designed by Giambattista Valli, was inspired by contemporary dance making the ballerinas a perfect fit for the show.

The Hiplet ballerinas, who hail from Chicago’s Creative Media & Digital Culture Program, fuse classical ballet technique with hip-hop and urban dance styles. The ballerinas hit the disco ball-lined runway in Moncler bodysuits, tulle skirts and pointe shoes and danced to various hit songs like Missy Elliott’s “Lose Control.”

Led by creator and artistic director Homer Hans Bryant, the Hiplet ballerinas have been making quite the name for themselves both on and off Instagram ever since Bryant first posted videos of the group. They also recently appeared in an Old Navy commercial and Nordstrom campaign.
