Fall Fashion Preview: Runway To Real Way

Fall Fashion Preview: Runway To Real Way
By · August 10, 2012October 28, 2020
01
From Church To Red Carpet

Runway: The Jonathan Saunder’s model sashayed in this printed knee-length frock with black anklets and pumps for a church-friendly feel.

Real Way Zoe Saldana was the life of the carpet at the Teen Choice awards in this style. She shortened the hemline and added blue satin Louboutin’s for a younger, fresher feel.

02
Transitional Style

Runway: Oscar de La Renta’s fab pre-fall floral dress was showcased belted with black tights and ankle booties.

Real Way: Rashida Jones made it her own by ditching the belt, tights and boots for summer sandals.

03
The Long and Short of It

Runway: Emilio Pucci’s cocktail dress debuted for Fall 2012 with long sheer sleeves.

Real Way: Zoe Kravitz worked this sexy style at the Dark Knight premiere slightly modified — sans sleeves and a midi length hemline, accessorized with an evening clutch and ankle strap Alexander Wang pumps.

04
Provocative to Practical

Runway: Nigerian designer Maki Oh laced the runway for fall with this high-low skirt paired with a revealing cropped top.

Real Way: The DJ/Singer took a more practical approach at the Splendid store opening and paired it with a simple short sleeved top and Christian Louboutin pumps.

05
Runway to Red Carpet

Runway: It was lace overload for this pre-fall Stella McCartney style. A matching lace top and peep-toe clogs is how the model sported this look.

Real Way: Jones got rid of the lace top for a clean white button down with solid cuffs by Ann Taylor. The actress also shortened the hem of this ombré skirt and sweetened things up with round toe pumps for Digitas & The Third Act Present NewFront 2012.

America’s Top Model

Runway: Sachin + Babi’s hunter green gown graced the fall runway paired with classic pumps.

Real Way: Miss Universe piled on arm candy and mixed in sexy strappy sandals with this gorgeous green pleat front gown at The Cinema Society screening of Trishna.

07
Underneath It All

Runway: Stella McCartney gave this cobalt paisley pre-fall look an Indian flair with matching pants.

Real Way: Washington took the dress to Cancun, Mexico for the Django Unchained photo call without the pants and paired it with classic nude pumps.

08
Seeing Green

Runway: Louis Vuitton accessorized this model’s Kelly green ensemble with cap-toe pumps and an LV log shaped bag to match.

Real Way: The actress sported the look exactly as it was modeled but added her own swag — Persol sunglasses and a little black clutch.

09
Dramatic To Elegant

Runway: Carlos Miele ended his fall runway show on a dramatic note with a taffeta and tulle gown, bolero jacket and hat.

Real Way: June Ambrose used her stylist expertise to transform this look at the American Ballet Theater’s 2012 Gala. The diva replaced the hat and jacket with elegant chandelier earrings, sparkling bracelets and a palm sized clutch.

10
Playful To Professional

Runway: Moschino played up their color-block shift dress with big baubles, a bright yellow handbag, green T-strap clogs and girly ankle socks for a fun fall look.

Real Way: Michelle Williams added a sophisticated twist to the dress with a jeweled statement necklace and simple T-strap sandals.
