“This was one of the first looks that I collaborated on with Octavia and made especially for her. Her stylists call it a ‘sleeper hit’ and I couldn’t agree more," says Tadashi. "We had no idea it would create such an impact on the red carpet! She looks exquisite and was excited to learn that we made it available to our customers in a variety of colors. We aptly name this gown ‘The Octavia’.”
Octavia Spencer won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

Spencer won Best Supporting Actress Award for The Help at the 84th Annual Academy Awards.
“Octavia knew exactly what she wanted to wear to the BAFTA’s. We took the skirt from an existing gown and paired it with a white shirt for a look of easy grace,” explains Shoji.
“I thought her performance in The Help was extraordinary and her success was well deserved.”
Spencer won the Best Actress award at BAFTA (British Academy Film and Television Awards).
“The look Octavia wore to the ESSENCE Luncheon was inspired by her BAFTA look. She loved the animal print in a dress she previously tried on and wanted it as a pencil skirt to pair with a crisp white shirt.”
Spencer won the Breakthrough Performance award at ESSENCE’s 5th Annual Black Women in Hollywood luncheon.
“Ever since Octavia wore this to the SAG Awards, it has been one of our best-selling dresses. The draped skirt highlights her figure and she liked that she was able to show off her shoes.”
Spencer won Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Help. at the 2012 Screen Actor’s Guild Awards.
“We couldn’t decide if Octavia should wear this gown to the SAG or NAACP Awards but ultimately decided on the latter. We took the bodice of one dress and the skirt of another to create this flattering silhouette. From her head to toes, she got it right!”
Spencer won Outstanding Supporting Actress at the 2012 NAACP Image Awards.
