Born from the mind of Tyler Gregory Okonma, better known as Tyler, The Creator, the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival is a music festival extension of his clothing label, Golf Wang, which is a derivative of Odd Future (short for Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All), the Hip-Hop collective he cofounded. The collective has birthed the careers of some of our favorite artists like Syd and Frank Ocean.
Okonma’s music festival began in 2012, one year after his clothing label was formed. The term “Flog Gnaw” is a semordnilap of Golf Wang, which is a spoonerism of Wolf Gang.
Did you just get confused or tongue-tied with that terminology explanation? Well, at first we did, too!
But the fashions that were on display at the annual festival were everything but confusing: Guys and girls showed up in their “festival best,” wearing everything from motorsport-inspired leather ensembles to crochet-knit bra tops and oversize wide-leg jeans.
Of course, the Internet went crazy this week with Jaden Smith’s proclamation made on the festival stage, but that wasn’t the only buzzworthy moment from the event. Scroll through to check out our street style gallery of the hottest looks from Okonma’s campgrounds.
