We all remember the fever dream of the pandemic and the rise of injustice being recognized. The fashion industry and many industries alike were forced to look inward at what opportunities were being withheld from Black people who were well qualified for jobs and resources to be offered to them. The Black In Fashion Council came on the rise to wake up the fashion industry’s dormant reaction to its participation in barring Black designers and creatives alike from opportunities.

The showroom featured brands backed by Black In Fashion Council; CISE, Made By Ciriaco, Oak&Acron, Mademette, Diotima, TORLOWEI, JEOFROI, Sincerly Ria, and Ellaé Lisqué. Many of these brands went viral over the pandemic in many efforts to start supporting Black designers who haven’t been in the game for too long. Since then, BIFC has made sure to keep the momentum going by showcasing Black designers who are trying to make a difference and build an authentic community.

Many of the Discovery Showroom brands have a sustainable ethos and are here to empower Black consumers with accessible price points while still being luxury quality. The BIFC team was alongside its mentees and did a brilliant job in highlighting brands that deserve to be.

Take a look through the happenings of the showroom below.
