Black Girls Rocked The Red Carpet At This Year’s Black Girls Rock Awards!

Moments of pressure and pain from all of this year’s harrowing headlines washed away amidst the glow of the healing environment of this year’s Black Girls Rock, taped Sunday night inside of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. Black women have long been known to disguise their hurt with the baddest outfits and the cutest heels, and they’ve always wiped away tears with the most flattering makeup tricks. But tonight’s assembly of some of the brightest and best Black women allowed for everyone to let their guard down and enjoy a night filled with laughter, hugs and heart-warming tributes. From Queen Latifah glowing in her gorgeous hosting outfit, to Janet Jackson gracing the stage in her creative ensemble to accept her Rock Star Award, the ladies (and gents) definitely showed up and showed out tonight!
