Five female photography students got the opportunity of a lifetime when they were tapped to shoot the WNBA’s biggest stars in a project that gives space for women to own their voice, talent, and individuality.

For its latest campaign, the WNBA and Red Hook Labs partnered to create WNBA: It’s An Art, pairing female photography students of color from Brooklyn with athletes to create stunning portraits.

Students created the sets, selected wardrobes, and chose hair and makeup for the photo shoots, receiving support from professional production crews, hair and makeup teams, and wardrobe stylists.

A select rotation of images can be seen through October 27 at over 300 street kiosks in Manhattan.

See some of the stunning images below and check out the full photo series at wnba.com/labs.
