Will Smith’s ‘Ali’ Will Return To Theaters, Actor Will Be Pallbearer At Late Boxer’s Funeral

To honor Muhammad Ali’s memory Sony has decided to re-release Ali. The film about the boxing legend will return to theaters this weekend. Complex reports that Sony’s President of Worldwide Distribution, Rory Bruer, stated, “The film truly honors everything that made Ali one of the central figures of our time, a man who commanded his sport but whose personal faith and principles made him mean so much more. Muhammad Ali truly was The Greatest, and this tribute is a great way to honor him. “

The movie, which earned Will Smith his first best actor nomination, will return to theaters June 10, the same day as Ali’s funeral, where Smith will serve as a pallbearer. In a tribute to the late boxer, Smith said, “You shook up the World! My Mentor & My Friend. You changed my Life. Rest in Peace.”
