Welcome to #InMyFeed, ESSENCE’s daily digital show that offers you a quick look of the hottest headlines on your timeline. Remember Usher’s smash hit 2004 album, Confessions? From it spun one of our all-time favorite Usher singles, “Bad Girl,” which was a major bump! But, it appears that one of the song’s original creators wasn’t given his due – or his check. A Philadelphia court sided with Daniel Marino, who claimed he was never compensated for composing part of the music on the song. Marino was awarded over $44 million in damages, but don’t you worry about Usher’s coins. He wasn’t actually named in the suit at all. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes announced to fans in June that her husband Greg Leakes had been diagnosed with cancer. Leakes, 50, recently opened up for the first time about how his diagnosis has changed their lives and their marriage. For starters, she’s now a pescatarian and he’s become a vegan. Leakes admitted to feeling lost and alone at times and said that their ordeal has changed her approach to family in a more positive way. We know and love Ciara for her music and her dance moves. Ciara just dropped a brand new video for her new single “Dose” called Pep Rally and in it she’s giving us another dose of an incredible dance routine, and this time it’s going down in the streets of her hometown of Atlanta. Are you feeling these homecoming vibes? Tis the season. Yass, Ciara, please do keep us on our feet, sis!
