Sterling K. Brown made his Saturday Night Live debut this weekend, using the opportunity to poke fun at his own hit show This Is Us.

The Emmy and Golden Globe winner made fun of his tear-jerker NBC show by breaking down in tears in between jokes during his monologue. He couldn’t even hold it together when Leslie Jones tried to cheer him up.

Brown’s SNL episode further made fun of This Is Us with a commercial for a fictional show called “This Is U.S.”  Brown played a whiny and pathetic Ben Carson in this dramatic fictional series about the country’s sad state of politics.

“A drama so unnerving, you can’t look away,” the narrator said. “Like This Is Us, but without the parts that feel good.”

Another episode highlight was an apparent never-before-seen scene from the hit Marvel blockbuster “Black Panther.” In the sketch Kenan Thomas plays T’Challa’s “Uncle M’butu,” who has been left out of the storyline for good reason.
