If you weren’t at San Francisco’s Pier 48 last Thursday night, you missed what might’ve been the best kickoffs to NBA All-Star Weekend we’ve seen in years.

Yes, it was that good.

Grammy Award-winning artist Chance the Rapper delivered a nostalgic, yet electrifying performance at the NBA on TNT American Express Road Show, kicking off NBA All-Star Weekend at San Francisco’s Pier 48. The exclusive event featured a live broadcast of Inside the NBA with the show’s legendary lineup – Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O’Neal – creating the backdrop of what was a perfect fusion of basketball and music that set the tone for the weekend ahead.

American Express, the official sponsor of both the NBA on TNT Road Show and the NBA, transformed the venue into an interactive fan experience. In addition to the live telecast, attendees explored custom NBA on TNT installations, including a recreated studio desk and wardrobe department that offered exclusive Road Show items. The innovative “More Machine” added an extra layer of engagement, challenging fans with sports trivia for the chance to win prizes.

Card Members received signature American Express benefits, including early access to reserve complimentary tickets from February 4-6, and expedited entry through a dedicated Fast Lane at the event. This special access highlighted American Express’s commitment to providing unique experiences for basketball fans through their ongoing NBA partnership.

The San Francisco edition of the Road Show exemplified how American Express continues to bridge the gap between fans and the NBA experience, offering attendees the opportunity to engage with basketball culture beyond the court.
