Roc Nation

There’s a new artist on our radar and she should be on yours too.

Dutch artist Nicole Bus, who recently signed to Roc Nation, released her debut album, KAIROS, on Friday. Along with the new album, Bus shared the video for single “Mr. Big Shot,” a stylish video that sees the singer being pursued by a number of suitors.

Bus’ debut can be streamed on all platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and of course Tidal.

Bus isn’t the only artist whose music recently caught our ear. Below are a few more projects that got ESSENCE staffers through the week.

Missy Elliott – “DripDemeanor” feat. Sum1

No one does visuals like Missy Elliott and the video for her latest single, “DripDemeanor,” is no exception. Featuring Sum1, the video sees Elliott sporting some gravity-defying hairstyles, quality choreography, and a cameo from Teyana Taylor.

Kash Doll – Stacked

Kash Doll‘s debut album, Stacked, has finally arrived and the Detroit rapper has certainly delivered. The album includes singles “Ready Set” and “Kitten,” and features artists like Summer Walker, Lil Wayne, and Big Sean.

TeaMarrr – “Kinda Love”

Issa Rae has teamed up with Atlantic Records to launch her own label, Raedio, kicking things off with flagship artist TeaMarr and her latest single “Kinda Love.” The video, directed by Child, sees the singer building the perfect man as she names all the things she’s looking for in a man.

Rae said in a statement about her new label, “Music has always been an essential part of every project I do and working with emerging talent is a personal passion. Raedio allows me to continue that work within the music industry and audio entertainment space. The Atlantic Records team are innovators in terms of shifting and shaping culture. I’m excited to join forces with them to discover new artists.”

EARTHGANG – “Up”

Things take a weird turn inside a museum in EARTHGANG’s new video for “Up.” Featured on their debut album Mirrorland, “Up” is just the latest single from the Atlanta duo, who appear on the soundtrack for Melina Matsoukas and Lena Waithe’s Queen & Slim.
