Congratulations are in order for rapper Nicki Minaj!
Minaj announced Tuesday that she and fiancé Kenneth Petty have officially tied the knot. She shared the news on social media, teasing fans with a video that included “Mr. and Mrs.” mugs, baseball caps that read “Bride and “Groom,” and an official date, October 21.
In June, it was reported that the rapper and her fiancé had applied for a marriage license. During an episode of Apple Beats 1 Queen Radio, Minaj revealed, “We did get our marriage license. I think I have what I was striving for…just happiness. It was hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m here I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”
Later, Minaj hinted at being pregnant and starting a family during a collab with Chance the Rapper on “Zanies and Fools.”
The rapper has yet to share photos of the two saying “I do,” but until then we’ve put together a small list of some of the rapper’s most wedding-friendly songs for those Barbz who may be walking down the aisle soon themselves.
Minaj is the ultimate ride-or-die with "Your Love," a song that outlines the lengths the rapper is willing to go for her lover, who is the kind of guy to "keep a doo-rag, keep the wave on swim."
"Right Thru Me"
Your soulmate is one of the only people who can see exactly who you are, so "Right Thru Me" would be a fitting tune for your wedding.
"Moment 4 Life"
With a little assistance from Drake, Minaj raps about the triumphs of her career, reflecting on the long journey. "Moment 4 Life" is the perfect addition to any wedding playlist because tying the knot is a moment you'll always remember.
With lyrics like "boy you got my heartbeat runnin' away" and "excuse me you're a hell of a guy," the crushing-on-you vibes of "Super Bass" make it the perfect song to dance to at a wedding.
Pop-fueled "Super Bass" would be the perfect ending to any wedding day, after you've been riding high with your new spouse, friends and family. Play this to set the mood before jetting off to enjoy your lives together.
