ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood 2014 honoree Ava Duvernay’s second feature film, the critically-acclaimed Middle of Nowhere, is coming to DVD.
Starring Emayatzy Corinealdi as Ruby, a nurse struggling at a crossroads between continuing to stand by her incarcerated husband (Omari Hardwick), for whom she’s already sacrificed her dreams, or make build a new life. Corinealdi won the award for Breakthrough Actor at the 2012 Gotham Awards.
For the film, Duvernay—whose next project is the MLK biopic Selma—won the Best Director Award at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
Middle of Nowhere will be available on DVD on January 13, 2015.
