The film follows Ali as Don Shirley, a Black classical pianist touring the American South with his driver and bouncer, Tony (Mortensen). Along the way the two form an unlikely bond, evident in this new clip, which sees Don helping Tony write a love letter to his wife, whom he left back at home.
The film, based on true events, was written by Tony’s son, Nick Vallelonga, and premiered in September at the Toronto International Film Festival to rave reviews.
