JAY-Z re-opened New York City’s Webster Hall on Friday night with a star-studded legendary “B-sides 2” show that included a freestyle everyone is talking about.

The 4:44 rapper was the opening act for the famous venue following a years-long renovation—-and he did not disappoint. The set included rarely performed tracks from his expansive discography.

He also brought out the likes of Nas, Cam’ron, and Jim Jones to a stage outfitted with a massive Roc-A-Fella chain.

But the moment catching the most attention was Hov’s tribute to Nipsey Hussle in one of his freestyle’s of the night.

Jay-Z with the greatest verse I’ve ever heard. 😭😩 Rest up to the King, Nipsey as well 🙏🏾. The Marathon is NOT OVER 🏁 #WebsterHall #JayZ pic.twitter.com/d9cCOU9SF6

He rapped: “Gentrify your own hood before these people do it/ Claim eminent domain and have your people move in/ That’s a small glimpse into what Nipsey was doing/ For anybody still confused as to what he was doing.”

The concert was a nod to the rapper’s original “B-Sides” shows performed in New York’s Terminal 5 back in May 2015.
