The story of Bronx, New York native Kalief Browder is one that leaves the lawmakers who shape our criminal justice system with no choice but to take a closer look at the extreme lack of regard for Black lives in America.

Spearheaded and executive produced by rap mogul and businessman Jay Z, TIME: The Kalief Browder Story gives viewers an in-depth look into the events that led up to Browder's wrongful arrest at 16, the tumultuous three years he spent at Rikers Island as a result, and the devastating after-effects of the traumatic experience that ultimately caused him to take his life at the age of 22.
